A Trappist beer is a beer brewed by or under control of Trappist monks. Of the world's 171 Trappist monasteries, seven produce beer (six in Belgium and one in the Netherlands). Only these seven breweries are authorized to label their beers with the Authentic Trappist Product logo that indicates compliance to various rules edicted by the International Trappist Association
Chimay Red Cap 7% abv £3.20
known as Première. It is a dark brown colour and has a sweet, fruity aroma. The malt in this beer has a nutty character that goes well with the hints of pepper from the house yeast.

Chimay Blue Cap 9% abv £3.50
known as Grande Réserve. This copper-brown beer has a creamy head and a slightly bitter taste. Considered to be the "classic" Chimay ale, it exhibits a considerable depth of fruity, peppery character. It is extremely popular with the Belgian population.

Considered to be amongst the best of abbey beers, Maredsous is clean tasting, very drinkable and the authentic beer of the Benedictine monks of the
Abbey of Maredsous in the Belgian Ardennes. Rich mahogany-brown Dubbel ale with a delicate body and creamy head. A velvety taste with subtle hints of dark fruit, chocolate, and toffee.
